    Tanya is from Mililani, Hawaii and received her BS and MS degrees in Biology from Stanford in 1991 and her PhD in Molecular Biology from UCLA in 1996.

    POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW

    Sanjay is from New Delhi, India and received a PhD in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2023, an MS in Bioinformatics from Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi, India in 2013 and a BS in Life Sciences from University of Delhi in 2011. His research interests include exploring the intersection of genomic instability and environmental stress to study disease pathogenesis.

  • Bokun Yin

    POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW

    Bokun is from Beijing, China and received his PhD in Molecular Biology from Leibniz Institute on Aging in 2023 and his BS/MS in Biology from University of Konstanz in 2018. His current research focuses on how DNA damage drives neurodegenerative disorders.

  • Cara Vaughan

    RESEARCH SCIENTIST

    Cara received her PhD in Protein Crystallography from University of Cambridge in 1998 and Honors BS in Chemistry from University of Glasgow in 1994. Her research focuses on the MRN complex.

  • Samantha Refvik

    GRADUATE STUDENT

    Samantha is from Bartlesville, OK and began working in the Paull lab as an undergraduate. After receiving her BS in Biochemistry and Elements of Computing Certificate in 2020, she joined the lab as a grad student to continue her research investigating PARylation.

  • Eddy Ye

    Eddy is from Beijing, China and received an MS in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in 2016 and BS in Biological Science from Nanjing University in China in 2014.​

    Phillip is an Austin native and received a BS in Biochemistry and Elements of Computing Certificate from UT Austin in 2020.

  • Robert Marick

    GRADUATE STUDENT

    Robert is from Maple Grove, Minnesota and received a BS in Biochemistry from University of Wisconsin. His research focuses on senescence and the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP).

  • Elizabeth Katsnelson

    Elizabeth is one of our newest members. She joined the lab from UC irvine after receiving a BS in Biology in 2021.

    Mohammed is a first year grad student from Al Sharqia, Egypt. He graduated in 2022 with a BS in Pharmacy from Zagazig University.

  • Grant Ebel

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

    Grant is from Magnolia, TX and will be graduating from the Honors Biology Program as part of the Dean's Scholars Class of 2025. His areas of interest are genetics and molecular biology and he hopes to go on to pursue an MD or MD/PhD.

    Kathy is from Ft. Worth, TX and is currently pursuing a BSA in Biology, a Pre-Health Professions Certificate, and a Japanese Certificate.

  • Yoel Perez-Perez

    UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCHER

    Yoel is from Katy, TX and will be graduating with the Dean’s Scholars Class of 2027 with an Honors degree in Biochemistry and Certificate in Computational Science and Engineering. Yoel’s research interests are in Developmental and Cancer Biology and Molecular Biology and he plans to pursue an MD or MD/PhD Program after graduation.

    Ainsley is from Kingwood, TX and will be graduating with the Dean's Scholars Class of 2026 with a BS in Biology Honors and BA in Plan II.

    Hannah is from San Antonio, TX and received a BSA in Biology with a certificate in Digital Arts & Media from UT Austin in 2022. Her research interests include molecular genetics and cell and cancer biology.

    Nicolette is from Washington, DC and received a BS in Molecular Genetics with a minor in Chemistry from SUNY Fredonia in 2007. Her research focuses on protein-protein interactions involving molecular chaperones.
